Inspired by the influence that people have in my life, this poem speaks about my personal experience, and perception of myself. I believe that we all keep something from the people we connect with, and how these interactions and experiences shape who we are and contribute to our personal growth.
I am made of memories.
My body consists of moments
And experiences.
I keep a little piece
Of everyone that I ever met.
Come, stay a while,
Take off your shoes,
Tell me about what worries you.
When you leave, I’ll keep your smile
A new song I never heard,
A new restaurant I have never been.
I hold tight to my roots,
So, I don’t lose myself
Trying to keep something
That never belonged to me.
